Help stop the illegal wildlife trade and protect animals from poaching during this global health crisis.
While large wildlife may not be threatened with infection from the coronavirus, their lives are at risk in another way. Increased poaching due to the effects of the virus looms as a danger to rhinos, elephants, tigers, zebras, lions and numerous other species around the world.
Travel restrictions have brought tourism to a standstill, an industry many countries depend on economically. As a consequence, poaching has increased, often to provide food for hungry families or for illegal sales.
Even worse, many rangers and staff who patrol parks and reserves to prevent poaching are being laid off and can no longer protect wildlife. Additionally, without the traffic of tourism and funds for anti-poaching measures, poachers grow bolder.
That’s why Greater Good Charities is working with partners throughout Asia and Africa to prevent increased poaching. Your gift will go toward ranger pay to keep more eyes and ears on the ground to discourage poachers. It will also provide supplies for monitoring and removing snares, and cover medical costs for treating injured animals.
You can help. We cannot let the world’s majestic wildlife disappear to poaching in this difficult time. Give today.
