This holiday season, YOU can ensure a safe birth for mothers and their children by giving a gift today!
20 safe births sponsored, 80 to go!
Despite worldwide efforts to reduce infant mortality rate, there is still much to be done to ensure safe childbirths. Even in a developed country like the United States, the infant mortality rate is approximately 6 out of every 1000 live births. It gets much worse in less developed countries like Thailand, where infant mortality rates spike to 1 in 100 live births.
That’s why this holiday season, GreaterGood is working to provide essential services to facilitate safe births for expectant mothers in need, including regular free check ups throughout the pregnancy, and care for mother and child after the birth.
Your gift will continue to improve access to prenatal care, safe labor and delivery, and postpartum care for new mothers and their babies, like Su Ngae and Chit Sable.
Su Ngae (pictured here) had a safe delivery this year. Though her pregnancy went smoothly, during her delivery, she suffered from uterine atony. This reduced her ability to contract and compress the blood vessels, which helps to prevent hemorrhages. A blood transfusion was necessary to mitigate blood loss. With medical help, Su Ngae and her new baby, Chit Sable, made it through the delivery safely and without any further complications.
Chit Sable and his mother are here today because of the critical care they were given. You can save even more mothers and children by giving a gift today. Your $45 gift sponsors one safe childbirth.
