Sarc is an artisan group in Jaipur, India that has been established for more than 23 years. It has been employing people in multiple villages and helping them to build sustainable incomes for their families and their futures. By working within the community, Sarc is not only helping each artisan with their personal goals – such as sending their children to good schools.
They are also helping to preserve the practices and traditional skills found throughout the different villages and giving those skills new life in each textile created. Every single article of clothing created is a work of art, and the result of the skilled handiwork of countless people.
Every person that the item comes in contact with is able to contribute to its beauty. Each step -- from making the fabric, stitching it together, adding embroidery, dying the fabric, and applying any number of unique prints and designs – highlights the skills and beautiful traditions that are found throughout the 25+ villages involved.
Absolutely beautiful. Casual and semi dressy. Looks good on
This top is very pretty, but the colors are a little different in real life than in the picture. It’s a one size fits most, so it’s very roomy and looks best with leggings or slim pants. The top had a VERY strong bad smell when it first arrived- I could barely stand to try it on before throwing it in the washing machine. It says to hand wash, but I had no trouble putting it through the washer and dryer (it’s way too humid where I live to line dry most of the time).
