"You don't need a bull hook to control an elephant. You can guide an elephant with love and bananas." - Lek Chailert, Founder of Save Elephant Foundation
Meet Sarai Mia. She has known freedom for 2 years now. She is 26 years old, and her days of hardship are over. She was separated and sold from her mother at a young age. For work, she was trained to pull logs out from what should have been her beautiful home. It is grueling labor, with high potential for injury, and the heavy burdens yield a diminished life expectancy.
There are about 3,500 working elephants in Thailand that are harmed from logging or used in many forms of human entertainment, and the harm continues. Save Elephant Foundation is committed to educating the public about the elephants' living conditions, and to rescuing as many of them as possible. We provide them a space where they can live out their days in peace, with no fear of harm, but we are in need of more land to save more elephants.
GreaterGood.org partners with Elephant Nature Park to focus on rescuing Asian elephants from abuse and exploitation, and providing a sanctuary for them to live out their lives in peace. ENP wants to continue the effort of relieving the elephant from it's hard days of duty to humans. At ENP, there are currently 84 elephants enjoying their days of freedom, and we need to secure more land in order to save more. With your help, we can fulfill our commitment to the working elephant. We are planning the purchase of new lands to further our rescue mandate.
You can help us secure more land for the elephant! Your donation helps expand the sanctuary to provide elephants that are in desperate need, like Sarai Mia, the freedom and space they deserve.
