Help Build a Doggy Play Yard!
Our Rescue Rebuild team wants to head to Florida to start the play yard project, but before that happens we need your help!
$421 Has Been Raised! $7,579 To Go!
Everyday a large number of pets are surrendered to animal shelters due to their human companion having financial or health challenges that prevent them from effectively caring for their pet. The Pet Project is dedicated to reducing this from occurring. They provide services to hundreds of clients in Florida completely through foundations, local business donations, personal donations, event fundraisers and countless volunteer hours. The Pet Project has ensured the animal and human bond continues, often during times when the pet is needed most.; such as with the elderly or someone suffering from terminal illness. Many of their clients are ill, disabled or seniors who have no recreation area to give their pets exercise or play time. They cannot afford an animal day care if they need to go somewhere, they lack funds for a pet walker, and many are not able to go to dog parks because their disabilities restrict them to do so. Many clients also do not have access to back yards or doggie parks for their animals.
The solution to solve this problem is to build a play yard. This project is important because The Pet Project often foster pets for their clients when they are hospitalized or need medical procedures done. The play yard will also enable clients to bring their pets to mingle with other dogs, have some outside space for play and exercise, wade in a kiddie pool, get a bath and the client can have some social interaction as well. GreaterGood.org's Rescue Rebuild are wanting to help! Before we can send Rescue Rebuild to Florida, we need your help raising $8,000 so The Pet Project can start preparing for the play yard to be built.
The play yard will be built at The Pet Project's facility in Wilton Manors, Florida. Right now the only room they have for the play yard is their parking lot. They will need to start ripping up the asphalt and preparing the ground for the play yard. With your help, we can send GGO's Rescue Rebuild to help finish the job of building the play yard!
