Help save the monarch butterfly!
There has been a dramatic and rapid decline of the monarch butterfly population in Mexico, so much so the that their future is uncertain. This is due to pesticides used in commercial farming and the deforestation of their habitat. Along with the bee, the monarch butterfly is an essential pollinator for our ecosystem.
Greater Good Charities partners with Forests for Monarchs' mission to assure the long-term survival of the monarch butterfly through the conservation and restoration of forests. With your donation, they can plant essential trees for the Monarch butterflies. Forests for Monarchs reduces the impacts of wood harvesting on the natural and protected forest by distributing and planting high-quality native tree seedlings. Through its efforts, Forests for Monarchs has planted over 8 million trees in the region and has seen first-hand the soil quality increase, streams return, and a decrease in illegal logging in the region.
You can help rebuild the monarch butterfly's habitats where they seek shelter and food during its migrations. By making a donation, you help Forest for Monarchs plant trees in the region and help them engage the local populations in this restoration effort.
With your help we can save more of the monarch population. Just $15 plants 30 trees for these butterflies.
Forests for Monarchs is dedicated to protecting the monarch butterfly and other endemic species by reforesting the land surrounding the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, and to promote sustainable forest management among the local landowners for their economic benefit and forest conservation.
