Sophor is an eighteen year-old in her final year of high school. She lives in a small house in Siem Reap with her family. Sophor's father has only completed grade 5 of education and was disabled during the Cambodian-Vietnamese War—and he has been unable to work since. Her mother has no formal education, but manages to make $2 per day selling vegetables at the local market. Combined with her brothers' $50/month construction worker earnings, the family has sacrificed a lot to keep Sophor in school. She is on the brink of becoming the first person in her family to complete high school. She will soon graduate in the top 10 of her class and would like to attend Royal University next year. She is extremely intelligent and her family is confident she will follow-through with her dreams to become an architect. Her dream job is to revive colonial architecture in Siem Reap. She needs your help to attend her first year of college. Financial hardship should not stand in the way of her dreams.
