Haiti is famous for the colorful "tap tap" buses that transport people throughout the city of Port-au-Prince. This clay bead necklace is painted to match the fun and colorful tap taps you find on Haitian city streets.
Each necklace is made by artisans at Papillon. Papillon is providing hope through the dignity of a job, training, and the ability to create something new. Their name means "butterfly" because they transform things -- a lump of clay, discarded magazine, or metal shipping drums -- into beautiful works of art, while transforming the lives of their artisans and pulling families out of poverty.
