Help nourish dogs saved from the dog meat trade as they await forever homes.
Countless dogs - pets as well as strays - are tragically being stolen to fuel the barbaric dog meat trade in Southeast Asia.
Greatergood.org has partnered with Soi Dog Foundation, an organization based in Phuket, Thailand, which has saved many dogs from this horrible fate. They have facilitated the adoptions of hundreds to homes in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, and many countries in Europe.
Several years ago, Soi Dog Foundation conducted a highly successful, intensive communications campaign that effectively ended the dog meat trade in Thailand. Through a similar communications effort, the organization is currently working to bring about the end of the trade in Vietnam.
Sadly, some of the dogs rescued have been so traumatized, they simply are not good candidates for adoption. Most will likely live out their lives in Soi Dog’s shelter.
Meet Enya. She was one of the many victims of the barbaric dog meat trade who spent almost a year in the shelter before she was sent to the US to The Barking Lot, located in San Diego. It was terrifying for Enya to live in the shelter, but with time and patience, Enya soon learned to trust again and was deemed suitable for adoption and chosen to fly to the US to find a forever loving home. It was not long before Enya found a place to call her own where she soon discovered the joys of hiking, a soft bed, and lots of love.
GreaterGood.org partners with Soi Dog Foundation to help give these rescued dogs the best lives possible, and to make sure they never go hungry or lack the care they so richly deserve.
You can help! Just $10 will feed 12 dogs for a day. A generous gift of $25 will feed 30 dogs, and $50 will feed 60 dogs for a day!
The mission of Soi Dog Foundation is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Thailand, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to end animal cruelty, and to ultimately create a society without homeless animals.
