Jalsu Uma Boilerplate — DO NOT DELETE

Founded in 2001, Jalsu Uma focuses on training women in the production of accessories made from alpaca wool. Started by five women, the cooperative now includes more than 20 who are trained in techniques such as hand looming, weaving, and crocheting. Artisans have the option to work from home to care for their children and meet weekly for production matters. Jalsu Uma strives for expansion, providing more women with the opportunity to financially support themselves and their families, innovating new designs, and becoming a leader in Bolivian handicrafts.
