Help save the Indochinese box turtle from extinction!

The Indochinese box turtle is now critically endangered, and we need to act quickly to save them from complete extinction. Habitat destruction and fragmentation has stolen their homes, and their numbers continue to dwindle from illegal poaching. These poor animals are hunted and taken for the pet, food, and medicinal trades. If we don’t intervene, the Indochinese box turtle will be lost forever. 

Saving the Indochinese box turtle won’t be easy. Because Vietnam is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, with over 50,000 species of plants and animals calling it home, conservation efforts in the region can be tricky. Efforts to save one species must take into account all the other creatures that could be affected. That’s why further research is needed to save species like the Indochinese Box Turtle. 

This June, Greater Good Charities’ Global Discovery Expeditions program is headed to Vietnam.
