Thirty-five years ago, Far Fetched began making and selling Artisan Made jewelry from the back of a truck at craft markets in Southern California. Today, Far Fetched works with 100 artisans or artisan cooperatives producing and selling Artisan Made jewelry. Together, we have invested $15 million dollars in Trade not Aid to artisans and the artisan community since 1991!
The Far Fetched vision remains the same - to produce and sell Artisan Made jewelry that improve the lives of all from the artisan supplier to the end customer. Production continues in the same Central Mexico town employing generations of artisans working mostly in home workshops. And in accordance with their sustainably practices, they utilize reclaimed metals whenever available and their .925 Mexican Sterling Silver is always nickel free.
They are a small, purpose-driven team spanning multiple communities across the US and working in close collaboration with their supplier-partners. They follow the fair trade principals providing a fair wage, transparency, and safe working conditions and are proud of their affiliation with the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
