Your help is urgently needed to support survivors ravaged by Turkey’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
47,000 lives have been lost after a once-in-a-century 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Turkey on Monday, February 6th, and the death toll is still rising. Countless more people have been displaced. They have lost homes, loved ones, and any sense of normalcy. These survivors and their pets need your help NOW.
Your donations helped us serve 5,900 meals, including 1,300 breakfasts, 3,100 lunches, and 1,500 dinners. We have moved our kitchen to a new cooking site established by the Turkish Red Crescent. Our team is now focusing on setting up the new base and developing a flow for maximum food distribution in the area. The people of Turkey, including families and children, are so grateful for your support.
We are continuing to mobilize volunteers on the ground for feeding efforts. With your help, thousands of meals have already been delivered to survivors of Turkey's 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Greater Good Charities has served 500 breakfasts, 2000 lunches, and 500 dinners at our main distribution sight. We've also extended our reach to the mountainous village of Alaattin where many survivors have sought refuge. Thanks to your donations, we've already given out 800 pizzas in Alattin.
We're focused on feeding animals in need. The Greater Good Charities' field response team is caring for street animals and collaborating with local animal welfare organizations to help provide food to pets rescued from the earthquake.
A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck southern Turkey near the Syrian border today. Greater Good Charities' teams are safe and continuing to provide aid. The situation is dire and more help is needed to provide food, supplies, and care.

Turkey (formally recognized as Türkiye by the U.S. State Department as of January 2023), has declared a three-month state-of-emergency for this unprecedented catastrophe. In affected areas, thousands are left unsheltered in the winter cold without reliable access to hygiene supplies and plumbing.
Greater Good Charities is on the ground responding to the situation. We’re setting up distribution locations in Hatay Province in the city of Antakya and surrounding areas with the initial goal to serve up to 10,000 meals to survivors daily. With your donations, we can provide hot meals, shelf stable food, and supplies for people with pets.
The people of Turkey are cold, grieving, and struggling to survive in the wreckage of their destroyed homeland.
